On September 12, 2021, Faculty of Business Administration, Ton Duc Thang University held an online entitled "Effective online teaching methods". The seminar is organized with the participation of 50 people including faculty lecturers and inviting lecturers.
We are honored to welcome the following guest speakers:
- Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan Huong - Senior Advisor, Research Capability Development, RMIT University, Australia;
- Dr. Thai Dam Huy Trung - Lecturer at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan
- Dr. Phung Minh Tuan - Head, Department of Marketing, Ton Duc Thang University.
During the discussion, Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan Huong and the lecturers shared the experience of online teaching especially when Covid-19 pandemic hit. In addition, lecturers also took the perspective of learners to explore the limitations of online study and from that propose effective ways to overcome foreseen challenges.
Most of the lecturers participated in open discussions and agreed with Dr. Lan Huong on the point of view that “We not only need lesson plans or plans to teach each lecture, but what we also need is a big picture of subject essence". To teach effectively, first of all, there must be a good content both in terms of theory and practicality. Teaching is a two-way interaction between teachers and students, we share our knowledge. Most importantly, the application of theories to solve real issues will demonstrate the concepts and make the lesson more vivid.
Within only 2 hours, the seminar has brought everyone together for a meaningful discussion. The faculty looked forward to hosting more useful programs for both lecturers and students in the near future.
