Faculty of Business Administration – Ton Duc Thang University Engages with Ho Chi Minh City Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Expanding Research Collaboration Opportunities in the New Era

On 25 August 2026, representatives of the Faculty of Business Administration, Ton Duc Thang University, paid a working visit to the Ho Chi Minh City Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (HCMC C4IR) to discuss cooperation directions in smart urban development, smart manufacturing and digital transformation.

The meeting took place in an open, professional, and productive atmosphere at the headquarters of HCMC C4IR, an institution established under the Fourth Industrial Revolution Center network of the World Economic Forum (WEF).

Representing the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), the delegation included:

  • Prof. Yan Min-ren, Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Business Administration and Professor at National Chengchi University (Taiwan, China);
  • Dr. Tran Cong Duc, Assistant Dean in charge of Scientific Research.

Welcoming the delegation, representatives from HCMC C4IR included:

  • Ms. Pham Thi Hong Nhung, Head of the International Relations, Communications and Events Center;
  • Ms. Nguyen Hoang Vy, Head of the Urban Development Center;

along with specialists from the International Relations, Communications and Events Center, the Global Knowledge Exchange Center, and the Urban Development Center.

During the session, both sides exchanged views constructively on prospective areas of collaboration, with particular attention to research in smart urban development, sustainable urban development, smart manufacturing and digital transformation. These priorities respond directly to Ho Chi Minh City's development agenda while aligning closely with FBA's academic strengths in strategic management, innovation and operations management.

A central theme of the discussion was the opportunity to connect academic experts from Vietnamese universities with international specialists through the convening role of HCMC C4IR. This approach aims to build interdisciplinary, internationally oriented research teams capable of translating academic findings into applied solutions for urban governance and enterprise practice. For students, such partnerships open access to city-scale real-world problems, enrich research experience and strengthen readiness for global integration.

The visit concluded with strong mutual recognition of the collaborative potential between the two institutions.
