This paper uses panel data from 49 countries over the period 1980-2009. The results show that FDI did not have a significant impact on the industrialization of the country, while the other variables, such as the size of the market, the financial sector, international trade is very important weight. This study concluded that the role of FDI in the transformation agenda, which is currently under discussion in Africa, should be analyzed carefully in order to maximize the impact of capital flows.
