Journal Club: Sicken thy neighbor: The initial trade policy response to COVID-19

On the morning of March 8, 2021, at Meeting Room B, Faculty of Business Administration held a Journal Club meeting in March with the participation of all lecturers in the Faculty.  In this meeting, MSc.  Le Duc Nha presented an article in The World Economy (Scopus Q2) entitled "Sicken thy neighbor: The initial trade policy response to COVID-19".  According to MsC. Le Duc Nha, the research objective of this article was to approach commercial policies related to the medical equipment segment in the early Covid-19 pandemic.  Besides, the author of paper also gives the initial assessment for the responses to the trade policies of the countries such as import and export restrictions.  The article has pointed out the impact of import-export restriction policies, the decline in export revenue in the future will not encourage local enterprises to increase production and invest in output.

After the presentation, lecturers in the Faculty had time to discuss further about the contributions and limitations of commercial policies during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, the lecturers also commented on research methods and techniques of the authors that need to be completed the research overview.
