At the TDTU Student Startup Idea Competition for the 2025–2026 academic year, Châu Thanh Khiết, a student majoring in Business Administration (Hospitality Management), was awarded the Encouragement Prize for the project “Panduranga Pottery – Entrepreneurship from the Mother Earth.” The project impressed the judges with its strong cultural identity and clear orientation toward sustainable development.
The project draws inspiration from the land of Panduranga, a region renowned for the Bàu Trúc Cham pottery craft that has been preserved and practiced for more than a thousand years. More than a business idea, Panduranga Pottery represents a meaningful journey back to cultural roots, where each ceramic product is shaped from earth and fire through the skillful hands of Cham artisans, carrying stories of heritage and indigenous cultural values.
With a vision to connect tradition and innovation, the project aims to introduce Cham handmade pottery to contemporary markets through creative designs, a well-defined brand identity, and a sustainable development strategy. At the same time, it emphasizes the preservation of traditional craftsmanship and the creation of stable livelihoods for local artisan communities, particularly younger generations.
The project stands out for its comprehensive entrepreneurial approach, in which economic value goes hand in hand with social responsibility, cultural preservation, and environmental protection. Through the use of natural materials, environmentally friendly handcrafted production processes, and authentic brand storytelling rooted in Cham culture, Panduranga Pottery reflects the spirit of sustainable entrepreneurship in today’s context.
The Encouragement Prize is a well-deserved recognition of Châu Thanh Khiết’s dedication, passion, and entrepreneurial mindset. It also highlights the initiative and creativity of students from the Faculty of Business Administration in applying academic knowledge to real-world practice while contributing to the preservation of traditional cultural values.
