On March 9, 2018, the Faculty of Business Administration of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) cooperated with National Tsinghua University (Taiwan) and PwC Vietnam Company to organize a conference entitled: "Business opportunities and innovative models driven by the Internet: cases in Vietnam". The event received participation from 80 experts and scholars from TDTU, National Tsinghua University, Feng Chia (Taiwan),Taiwan Trade Association in Vietnam, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (Ho Chi Minh City) and representatives from more than 35 domestic and foreign businesses.
With 10 practical projects currently being implemented in Vietnam, participants discussed the effects of the Internet to the business environment, specifically the impact of Internet of Things (IoT) to business management and strategy across various business areas ranging from hotels-restaurants, health to education, ... as well as how to exploit mobile applications (Android & IOS) to easily reach customers in today's "Internetized" society. In addition, experts, scholars and businesses also analyzed the relationship between local culture and IoT in order to have a comprehensive social-scientific view to take advantage of IoT opportunities in countries with emerging economies in South and Southeast Asia.
The conference created an opportunity for TDTU lecturers to exchange academic experiences, update business development trends through the Internet, as well as to strengthen cooperation with leading experts. The seminar was also a useful discussion forum which brought new values to society, especially in the field of online business.
