Journal Club - Dr. Truong Thi Thanh Binh: Updates on Research Trends in Innovation and Sustainable Development
On the afternoon of June 29, 2026, the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at Ton Duc Thang University hosted the June 2026 Journal Club via a virtual format, with the attendance of the Faculty's leadership board and academic staff. The program introduced two novel scientific studies concerning digital transformation, innovation, and sustainable development, thereby fostering research activities, knowledge sharing, and the assimilation of emerging academic trends in alignment with the University's strategic internationalization objectives.

The program was attended by the leadership board and faculty members of the FBA. During the session, Dr. Truong Thi Thanh Binh – a Collaborative Researcher at the FBA – sequentially presented two studies published in prestigious international journals. These papers focus on highly pertinent topics within contemporary corporate management, specifically digital transformation, innovation, sustainable development, and knowledge management. The presentations unveiled novel academic perspectives and facilitated a robust platform for faculty members to engage in scholarly discourse, critical peer review, and the sharing of research experiences.

In the inaugural report, Dr. Truong Thi Thanh Binh introduced the study titled "The Role of Environmental Compliances in Escalating Knowledge and Innovative Activities and Enhancing Business Performance". This research elucidates the role of adhering to environmental regulations in accelerating knowledge acquisition and management, thereby augmenting the firm's innovative capabilities and operational performance. The empirical results also underscore that external knowledge generates substantial value only when translated into innovative capacity, which subsequently enhances the enterprise's competitive advantage and sustainable growth.

Following this, the speaker presented the research titled "Digital Transformation and Sustainable Performance: The Capability–Innovation Pathway". The study demonstrates that digital transformation serves as a crucial foundation enabling enterprises to bolster their Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities, catalyze green innovation, and fulfill corporate social responsibility (CSR), ultimately yielding sustainable performance outcomes. These findings provide highly valuable managerial implications for organizations navigating an economic landscape where digital transformation and sustainability have become imperative paradigms.
The program concluded with dynamic academic dialogues centered on the empirical results, research methodologies, and their practical applicability within the corporate context. The disseminated insights not only contributed to updating contemporary research trends but also cultivated an open academic environment. This initiative further propels scientific research, propagates a culture of knowledge sharing, and strengthens professional networking among the academic staff of the Faculty of Business Administration.
