Submitted by fba.editor on Wed, 10/16/2019 - 08:48

Purpose

Understanding the relationship between performance and trust in virtual teams is receiving significant attention due to “connected” virtual team contexts becoming more prevalent. This paper reports on new findings relating to the dynamics of trust and performance in virtual team contexts. The study aims to explore the evolution of trust and its mediating role in determining the performance of virtual teams, as well as to investigate if and how performance itself affected trust.

Submitted by fba.editor on Wed, 10/16/2019 - 08:46

Purpose

The relationship between organisational innovativeness (OI) and company performance has been studied extensively, and the associations found have mostly been positive. However, as OI is a multidimensional concept, more nuanced research is needed to identify which dimensions of innovativeness companies should focus on. The purpose of this paper is to longitudinally investigate the links between dimensions of OI and company financial performance, based on a sample of Finnish and Estonian pharmaceutical biotechnology companies.

We analyze a survey of 1000 managers of private companies in Denmark and Estonia using structural equation models.

Behavioural intentions of using virtual reality in learning: perspectives of acceptance of information technology and learning style.

Submitted by fba.editor on Wed, 10/16/2019 - 08:25

The use of virtual reality (VR) has become a viable alternative to conventional learning methods in various knowledge domains. Wearable head-mounted displays (HMDs) are devices that provide users with an immersive VR experience. To investigate the direct determinants affecting students’ reasons for HMD use in learning, hypotheses relating to information technology acceptance and Kolb’s learning styles were proposed and tested in this study. Participants were recruited through stratified random sampling according to the population ratio of colleges at a university in Taiwan.

Chemical waste management in the US Semiconductor Industry.

Submitted by fba.editor on Wed, 10/16/2019 - 08:22

Sustainability has become the biggest concern of the semiconductor industry because of hundreds of high-purity organic and inorganic compounds involved in manufacturing semiconductors not being treated economically. The aim of this study was to understand how semiconductor companies manage their chemical wastes, by analyzing the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Toxics Release Inventory data for hydrogen fluoride, nitric acid, ammonia, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, hydrochloric acid, nitrate compounds, and sulfuric acid. Cluster analysis was adopted to classify the U.S.
