On October 25, 2022, the delegation of the University of South Bohemia (USB) - Czech Republic visited and worked with Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). The delegation includes Prof. Bohumil Jirousek - Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Radka Zavodska - Vice Rector, Dr. Rudolf Hruby - Chairman of the Scientific Council, and Ms. Iirina Valentova - General Manager.
From TDTU, there were Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Acting President; Dr. Phan Dao - Director of the European Cooperation Center; Dr. Dinh Hoang Bach - Acting Director of the International Cooperation, Research and Training Institute; and leaders of the faculties including Business Administration, Social Sciences and Humanities, Law, and Environment and Labour Safety.
At the meeting, representatives of the two sides shared about the strengths of each university with outstanding achievements in the field of internationalization. Details of cooperation programs were also discussed, such as implementing the exchange program of lecturers and students to create opportunities for TDTU lecturers and students to learn about the culture and education of the Czech Republic, maintaining periodic courses for USB students at TDTU, providing scholarships and stipends for students of both sides; conducting joint research, etc.
Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Acting President of Ton Duc Thang University also proposed a cooperation program to share highly qualified human resources of the two sides to serve training and research work, towards the goal of building a globally linked university environment.
USB is one of the leading public universities for science and technology in the Czech Republic. It was established in 1991, currently training about 9,000 students in 8 different faculties with more than 230 majors of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. As a result of the QS World University Rankings in 2022, USB belongs to the group of 701-750 of the world’s best universities.
