On November 27, 2020, at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), the final round of Logistics Arena 2020 was held with the theme of Logistics Responsiveness. The contest is jointly organized by the Vietnam Association of Logistics Association (VLA), BAC- International Business Club TDTU and Vietnam School of Aviation and Logistics (VILAS).
Logistics Arena was held for the first time in 2015. This year, after many rounds, the 4 best teams surpassed nearly 1,000 contestants in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) to come to the .
The competition jury includes:
- Mr. Do Huu Anh – Director, Seabornes Logistics;
- Ms. Bui Van Kieu – Director, Advant Intl Logs Group;
- Mr. Simon Vandekerckove – Managing director, Geodis Vietnam;
- Mr. Alexander Olsen - Freight Management Director, Commercial, ITL Corporation.
- Mr. Tran Ngoc Khanh - MP Logistics
In this round, KNOCKOUTS, the teams went through 03 challenging rounds including:
- Team Run: answer multiple-choice questions
- Business case study solution presentation with Q&A session
- A challenging question from the judges
This year, the contestants are 2nd year and 3rd year students with limited work experience in the actual LSCM field, yet the judges highly appreciated the effort the team put in to research and analyse in-depth to propose creative solutions. The Q&A session was more challenging to all 4 teams but they learnt a lot from the feedback given by members of the jury panel.
Competing teams did not only impress with their confidence in presenting English but also offer convincing new solutions and models. In the end, the first prize went to Casebreakers team (RMIT Vietnam University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education); Second prize went to Logi team (Foreign Trade University-HCMC, and TDTU); The third prize belonged to The X team (TDTU, International University and Foreign Trade University -HCMC); Consolation prize was awarded to Team Simple (Foreign Trade University -HCMC and TDTU).
The Logistics Arena competition is a meaningful academic playground for students in HCMC who are passionate about LSCM. This is also a good opportunity to connect students to create opportunities to learn directly from experts in the logistics industry, at the same time develop their own capabilities in expertise, presentation and teamwork skills, The contest was highly appreciated by students and business community in the field of Logistics by introducing themselves to potential enterprises to secure a promising career opportunities after graduation.
