Dilemma related to employability has always been a topic of concern among students especially Year 3 and Year 4. Moreover, in the current circumstances with a heavy impact from the global pandemic, not only health-related but also job-related concerns never stop worrying students.
Empathizing those issues, the Faculty of Business Administration, the Faculty's Youth Union-Association, BAC-Marketing Club in collaboration with the STDT team organized an online talkshow "Entrepreneurship or Start-up" was held, lively broadcasted on Faculty of Business Administration - Ton Duc Thang University's fanpage at 19:30 on September 17, 2021.
The session welcomed the participation of:
- Mr. Le Anh Tuan - Head of Skills Development and Social Work Department, Hanoi Youth Support and Employment Service Center - Founding Member of Hanoi Youth Startup Support Office;
- Dr. Hoang Hoa Mai - Deputy General Director in charge of Human Resources Sendo Technology Joint Stock Company;
- Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan Anh - CEO&FOUNDER Bloom Advertising Solutions Company Limited - Alumni of Faculty of Business Administration, Ton Duc Thang University.
The guest speakers shared about the journey to their success, with corporate work experiences and experience in establishing their own business. In addition, the guests also gave advice and suggested the necessary body about knowledge, skills and attitudes that students need to prepare for their career path.
All three speakers shared their views on the issue of "Entrepreneurship or Start-up" from different perspectives, but had a common theme of: "Students should focus on cultivating knowledge, necessary skills, training the spirit of learning and especially not being afraid to fail to gain experience”. These are the determinants to help students succeed regardless of their choices. The Covid-19 pandemic is not only a challenge, but also offers many opportunities for them to explore their potentials and break through.
With the attention of a large number of students, the talk show received a lot of questions about "employ" or " being employed" such as: How to apply for a company as a fresh graduate with no experience? Skills to impress and win employers? How to find a job during the pandemic season? Is it possible to work in a completely new industry? Which one is better "entrepreneurship" or "start-up"? What agencies, units and organizations are there to help Start-ups?...
Attending the talkshow, the students had the opportunity to express their concerns, raise questions and receive a thorough answers from three guests. The sincere sharing from the speakers has motivate students to try harder, continuously improve themselves to follow their career path.
Indeed, the talk show gave students a more realistic picture of the labour market and life after graduation especially after the big event like Covid-19 pandemic. Students must understand the true context and embrace new challenges, at the same time seize the potential opportunities to make the right decisions for their future.
