On November 19, 2024, at Room A101, the International Business Department - the Faculty of Business Administration hosted a roundtable discussion themed "What enables Vietnamese businesses to transition to a circular economy? What hinders them?" The event featured insights from Professor Timber Haaker, Head of the Business Model Research Group at Saxion University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands), and Adjunct Professor for the Faculty of Business Administration.
Amid the global trend toward sustainable economics, companies in Vietnam and worldwide strive to enhance sustainability in their business practices and operational models. Recognizing the importance and benefits of transitioning to a circular economy, the International Business Department organized this roundtable discussion titled "Promoting the Circular Economy for Businesses: Drivers and Barriers" to provide enterprises with an opportunity to exchange experiences and gain knowledge essential for a successful shift to circular business models.
The event was a resounding success, with participation from:

During the event, Professor Haaker shared trends, models, insights, and challenges on global trends and regulations related to the sustainable development of global enterprises. The roundtable provided Vietnamese businesses a platform to engage in discussions and learn from peers across various industries. Ms. Diệp Nguyễn, Founder & CEO of Greensys - SaaS, shared her company's experiences and challenges in transitioning to a circular economy, providing a valuable perspective for the attendees. The roundtable successfully ended with interesting sharing from the guests and helped businesses gain more insights and explore answers and solutions to the critical questions: "What enables Vietnamese businesses to transition to a circular economy? What hinders them?"
