On July 8, 2024, following the working session at Ton Duc Thang University, Singapore Management University (SMU) and the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) organized a symposium on the topic of "Sustainability Reporting" with business partners of the Faculty.
Attending from Singapore Management University (SMU) were Associate Professor Themin Suwardy – Vice Provost of SMU, Dr. Yeo Lip Pin – Associate Director of SMU's Postgraduate Program, along with professors from various schools and departments of SMU and representatives of SMU in Vietnam. Ton Duc Thang University was represented by the Faculty's leadership and faculty lecturers. Additionally, the program welcomed participation from affiliated businesses of the Faculty, including Mr. Benjamin Castel – General Manager of Pullman Saigon Hotel and representatives from various other partners.
Sustainable development is one of the key focuses in the Faculty of Business Administration's curriculum, aimed at delivering value and benefits to students, communities, and society. The program contributes significantly to defining in more detail the crucial factors for businesses to demonstrate and manage the impact of their activities on environmental, social, and business aspects. Consequently, the program aims to provide businesses with an important strategic tool for managing, improving, and conserving business value amidst increasing demands and expectations for sustainability from both the community and the market.
Speaking at the program, leaders from both universities expressed expectations for the potential cooperation between universities and businesses, based on respective strengths and developmental directions. Both sides emphasized the practical effectiveness of collaborative programs, with the shared goal of effectively integrating theory and practice in business management for the collective benefit of community, society, and the environment.
