Virtual Exchange Classroom “Business Model Innovation For Circular Economy Challenges”

From November 27 to December 4, 2024, the International Business Department - Faculty of Business Administration (FBA), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), in collaboration with the Business Innovation Lab of Saxion University (Netherlands), organized a virtual exchange classroom on the topic "Business model innovation for the challenges of the circular economy" shared by Prof. Timber Haaker, Lecturer at Saxion University and Head of the Business Innovation Lab.

The circular economy can be viewed as a strategy for addressing significant challenges in the current era, including resource depletion, environmental pollution, and sustainable development. In the context of the world and Vietnam focusing on the development of the circular economy, companies and enterprises are looking for ways to become more sustainable in their practical business operations and business models. To empower the young generation - the future leaders, the International Business Department offers students the opportunity to participate in a class on business model innovation towards the circular economy. At the same time, the class aims to promote international cooperation among students and enhance intercultural awareness.

The class has the participation of:

In the class, students are given knowledge, tools, and the opportunity to work in groups to propose sustainable business model solutions for given situations. Students can learn and discuss with Prof. Timber Haaker and Saxion University’s students during 3 sessions.
Day 1 (27th November, 2024): Lecture on circular business model and Case study
Day 2 (02nd December, 2024): Q&A and Tools
Day 3 (04th December, 2024): Final presentation

Saxion University’s team shared the circular business model of E-waste in Netherlands

After the teams were presented and discussed, Prof. Timber Haaker selected the Best Performance team of each school and presented the awards. Thanks to the classroom, Ton Duc Thang University students gained valuable time to improve their English skills, teamwork skills, problem-solving skills, etc., and knowledge about sustainable development and sustainable business models, which are necessary and valuable knowledge and skills for future students.
