Application of VR Technology in Teaching the Simulation for International Freight Forwarding

In the context of globalization and the 4.0 industrial revolution, Department of International Business has always adhered to practical needs and trends, constantly innovating and improving the quality of teaching. In the summer semester of 2023-2024, in the subject of Simulation of International Freight Forwarding Practice, the faculty has cooperated with NPH Digital Company Limited to apply VR technology to freight forwarding and logistics services at seaports and airports. This is a breakthrough, bringing students more vivid and realistic learning experiences than ever before.

With the superior features of VR technology, the application of this technology allows students to visit seaports and airports vividly on a digital platform. Not only stopping at sightseeing, students also recreate port operations through the practice process of simulating delivery coordination operations at CY and CFS warehouses at Cat Lai port and Tan Son Nhat airport on the VR simulation system.

Key benefits of the session:

Immersive Real-world Experience: VR technology provides students with the sensation of directly participating in port and airport activities. From coordinating cargo to managing warehouses, all processes are recreated in a highly realistic and detailed manner.

Enhanced Practical Skills:Students have the opportunity to practice logistics operations in a safe, simulated environment, unrestricted by physical space or time. This helps them master operational procedures and prepares them to handle real-life situations after graduation.

Safety and Time Efficiency:Using VR technology saves time and ensures safety compared to organizing actual field trips to seaports and airports. Students can learn anytime, anywhere, without the need for extensive travel.

Improved Decision-making Skills:Through VR-based exercises, students develop the ability to make quick and accurate decisions in complex logistics and freight forwarding scenarios.

By integrating VR technology into teaching, the International Business program at TDTU not only innovates and enhances the quality of education but also provides students with fresh and practical learning experiences. This strategic move equips students with essential skills to succeed in the ever-competitive and constantly evolving field of international business.
