The Faculty of Business Administration, Ton Duc Thang University officially became a member of the the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in May 2020. Most recently, in July 2021, after 1 year of preparation, the Faculty of Business Administration has reached the first milestone in the accreditation journey - Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC) approved the Faculty's accreditation application. This is truly a turning point of the Faculty in the accreditation implementation.
In order to help faculty staffs and lecturers fully understand standards and evaluation criteria as well as instill the principle of "Action - Innovation - Impact" in education and training activities, the faculty board organized 2 sharing session, on September 3 and September 8, 2021. The meeting focused on helping faculty members comprehend and appreciate 9 standards: strategic planning, physical-virtual-financial resources, faculty and professional resources, curriculum, assurance of learning, learner progress, teaching effectiveness, impact of scholarship and engagement & societal impact.
After two sharing sessions, every member gained an insight of what it is like to run a business school and associated activities meeting the international standards. In addition, analyzing the current situation of the Faculty based on the assessment criteria of the AACSB helps the Faculty identify strengths, weaknesses as well as opportunities and challenges, thereby seeking continuous improvement and efforts in the near future.
AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) is the most prestigious accreditation organization in the world with a history of more than 100 years of establishment, operation and development; was established in the United States in 1916. AACSB accredits business schools or departments. The core principle of AACSB lies on the continuous improvement.
AACSB accreditation has represented the highest quality standard in business education in the world for hundreds of years. As the oldest and largest business education network, AACSB connects lifelong learners, educators and businesses worldwide. Until now, only 874 business schools/faculties in 56 countries/regions worldwide are accredited by AACSB (less than 5% of the total number of business schools/faculties in the world).
As a member of the AACSB, Faculty of Business Administration can further ensure that the business degrees awarded by TDTU will be widely recognized by the world's prestigious university community, industries, as well as enhancing learner employability and career development.
