Understanding the aspirations and concerns about the future, as well as the uncertainties of the newly-enrolled students from the Bachelor of Business Administration, specializing in Hospitality Management, the Faculty collaborated with Pullman Saigon Centre to organize a hotel tour on October 25, 2024. This activity is part of the Faculty’s experiential learning program, aimed at helping students gain exposure to a professional working environment and industry experts, thereby equipping them with solid preparation for their future careers.
The students were welcomed and guided by Mr. Dinh Van Luu, Talent and Culture Manager of Pullman Hotel. He shared profound insights from his own experiences in various fields of the industry, offering the students a realistic view of how a high-end hotel is operated by professionals. Additionally, Mr. Luu provided valuable information about Pullman Saigon Centre and emphasized the importance of professionalism and dedication in every service aspect at the hotel in particular, and within the industry as a whole.
In addition to learning from Mr. Luu and touring the hotel, the students also had the opportunity to meet and participate in an English-speaking exchange with Mr. Benjamin Castel from France, the General Manager of Pullman Saigon Centre and Mr. Karel Volders from Belgium, the Director of F&B at Pullman Saigon Centre. They shared valuable industry experiences and directly addressed students' questions related to the challenges and future career opportunities in the field. Moreover, the students also gained insights into key strategies and mindsets for maintaining
resilience and striving for success in the Hospitality Management major. Through the tour, besides gaining hands-on experience at a 5-star hotel, the students were truly inspired and motivated. They felt more confident and hopeful about their future and were ready to grow and improve themselves day by day to thrive in the ever-evolving hotel industry.
In summary, the hotel tour event at Pullman Saigon Centre provided practical value for Hospitality Management's students. This was not only a rare opportunity for them to learn and gain hands-on experience but also an essential stepping stone for their future career development. It is a testament to the university’s commitment to training dynamic, creative, and globally ready generations of students.
