International student Mark John Cabazal, a second-year student from the Bachelor of International Business program conducted entirely in English, was honored to be invited to participate in the Model United Nations Conference (IMUN) organized by the United Nations in Hanoi, Vietnam, from October 4 to 6, 2024.
Mark was assigned to represent Brazil at the conference, where students from around the world discussed urgent global issues such as climate change, food security, and sustainable development. In his role, he highlighted the strengths of Brazilian agriculture, particularly precision farming and agroforestry methods, as vital solutions to address global food scarcity and promote sustainable development.
During the IMUN simulation sessions, Mark actively participated in discussions on developing climate-resilient infrastructure and achieving the United Nations' 2030 Global Goals, especially the goal of eradicating poverty. He called for international cooperation in agricultural technology transfer and emphasized the importance of legal frameworks to ensure equitable and sustainable resource allocation.
In addition to the debates, Mark had valuable opportunities for cultural exchange with other delegates, broadening his global perspective and building meaningful relationships. His participation exemplifies the power of youth in addressing global challenges through diplomacy and teamwork.
Mark's contributions at IMUN underscore the commitment of the Faculty of Business Administration and Ton Duc Thang university to cultivating future global leaders and facilitating student engagement in important international dialogues. The Faculty recognizes Mark's participation and consistently encourages student involvement in activities that contribute to the sustainable development of society.
