The positiveness and negativeness of the economy under two trade wars, opportunities and the potentials in Korea-Vietnam trade, and the current of mining and mineral processing industry in Vietnam are some of the discussion topics at the meeting between Korean energy enterprises at Ton Duc Thang University on October 29, 2019.
Attending the discussion, we welcomed representatives from the Faculty of Business Administration, Ton Duc Thang University; members of the Korean Daesung Energy company and some members of other companies in the field of energy.
At the meeting, Ms. Dinh Ha Van, lecturer from the Faculty of Business Administration, introduced the situation of the world economy, Vietnam's economy, the policy orientation of the Vietnamese government, especially related to the relations with South Korea. She also emphasized the current status of relevant issues that were in the attendees' interests. In particular, Korean businesses were fond of the following areas and raised many discussion questions: a growing Vietnam with a stable exchange rate and benefiting in the context of the trade war, Vietnam no longer grouped as a cheap labor destination, the current tax incentive policy for 90% of Vietnam - South Korea import and export goods, the 3 major petroleum projects of Vietnam which will be completed in the 2020s, and lastly the image of Koreans to the Vietnamese people.
After this visit, Ton Duc Thang University and the Faculty of Business Administration expect Korean businesses will have an orientation to invest in Vietnam, as well as to continuously deploy other cooperative activities provinces in Vietnam and with Ton Duc Thang University in particular. The Faculty of Business Administration hopes that cooperation with Korean businesses will contribute to tighten the traditional ties and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam-Korea.
