Research seminar: "Digital Transformation in the Supply Chain"

As part of the plan to encourage our lecturers to broaden industry insights and exchange knowledge with experts and academic partners, Department of International Business invited Assoc.Prof. Dr. Albert Tan, from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (China) to share his recent research on Digital Transformation in supply chain in the afternoon of 21st July 2021.

“Digitization” has been a buzzword in recent years especially in the context of globalization and the revolution of technology. Yet, the approach and implementation of digital transformation at both enterprise and industry or business sector level still face limitations that prevent businesses from maximize the performance across their value chain. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Albert clarified this further by drawing from his studies on this field. Besides, potential risks and threats such as "data abuse", "data privacy" and "blockchain shortcomings" were addressed and discussed among participants.
