On October 28, 2024, at Hall A403, the Faculty of Business Administration successfully organized the seminar "Applied AI in Elevating Service Experience" featuring guest speaker Professor Perry Hobson from Breda University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands). Professor Hobson, Faculty's adjunct Professor, a leading expert in the tourism and service industries, delivered insights alongside Associate Professor Dr. Pham Thi Minh Ly, Dean of the Faculty, with representatives from major enterprises, MBA students, faculty members, and students in attendance.
The seminar provided a vibrant and meaningful academic environment, attracting substantial interest from attendees. Especially notable was the presence of Mr. Craig, General Director of Plaza Hotel, along with other key business representatives, highlighting the growing importance of AI in elevating service experiences. MBA students and undergraduates from the Faculty had the opportunity to learn from Professor Hobson’s in-depth knowledge, broadening their perspectives on AI applications in customer service and business operations.
Professor Perry Hobson introduced innovative perspectives on the potential applications of AI in the service industry, explaining how AI can analyze customer data, predict demand, and improve various processes, from automated check-in and check-out to customer support through chatbots. He emphasized that AI helps businesses minimize costs, streamline processes, and significantly enhance customer satisfaction. A lively Q&A session at the end featured insightful questions from students and MBA participants. Topics of interest included the costs of AI investment, data collection and analysis in the hospitality industry, and the impact of AI on future employment. The interaction between
speakers and participants sparked new ideas, providing practical perspectives on implementing AI in Vietnam’s service sector.
