THE SEMINAR ABOUT GLOBAL ECONOMY AND ITS IMPACTS ON VIETNAM
On July 26, 2017, the Institute of World Economics and Politics (under the Academy of Social Sciences of Vietnam) in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Economic Center and Ton Duc Thang University To hold a scientific seminar on " Global Economy and its impact on Viet Nam” at Ton Duc Thang University.
Attending the seminar were leading economic experts in global economy, academic researchers and lecturers from the Institute of World Economics and Politics, Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, Asia-Pacific Economic Center, Regional Economic Research Institute of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Department of Planning and Investment of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Institute of Logistics, Foreign Trade University, Ton Duc Thang University and some other universities in Ho Chi Minh City.
Scientists delivered their speeches during the seminar covering hotly debated issues of the world economy and its impact on countries around the world in general and Vietnam in specific which concern people and scientists around the world. The seminar discussed economic characteristics of major economies such as the United States, China, Japan, economic organizations such as the BRIC and ASEAN as well as economic challenges they are experiencing. These fluctuations in their economies have had strong impacts on the global economic development and Vietnam’s economy.
The seminar not only provided an opportunity for researchers at Ton Duc Thang University and other researches to meet and exchange scientific researches, but also to give scholars in-depth knowledge about the world economy as well as Vietnam’s economy. This seminar helps faculty members to become more aware of the fact that teaching and conducting researches should closely follow the current economic and political situations.
