On April 16, 2022, The Faculty of Business Administration held a virtual academic meeting with the participation of Prof. Pham Thi Minh Ly, lecturers, postgraduate students, and graduate students of the Faculty. MBA. Tran Thi Van Trang shared an interesting study with the title “The role of strategic management for employee engagement and skill development for start-ups”.
The data in this study was collected from startups in India before applying reliability analysis, preliminary analysis and regression analysis to come to the conclusion. Research has shown that there is a strong relationship between vision and mission statements and the strategic objectives of startups; between strategic objectives and accountability and responsibilities of employees; between engagement and skill development among employees. However, employee accountability does not affect employee engagement, and similarly skill development is not dependent on vision and mission statements.
The meeting ended after a lively discussion about the future research recommendations as well as the importance of employee engagement and skill development in start-ups in the context of India and Viet Nam. The activity was such a valuable opportunity that young lecturers could accumulate specific knowledge and improve their scientific research skills.
